If you are a chocolate lover, you may want to try this easy recipe at home. Who doesn’t like chocolate? I think it is every child’s favorite since sweets are usually their thing. Even most of the adults I know love chocolates.
I added strawberry cream cheese icing that blends well with chocolate on this recipe. Bottled strawberry preserves are already sweet that you might not need to add plenty of confectioner’s sugar to your icing mixture.

Chocolate cupcakes with Strawberry Cream cheese icing

- Oven
- Muffin cups
- Paper liners
- Mixing bowls
- Sifter
- Measuring cups
- Measuring glass
- Rubber Spatula
- Mixer
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg large
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup whole buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Strawberry Cream cheese icing
- 2 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/8 cup butter unsalted, softened
- 1/8 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 tbsp. confectioner's sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Line muffin cups with paper liners.
- Beat oil, sugar, egg, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Add flour mixture to sugar mixture in thirds, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat until combined.
- Divide batter among prepared muffin cups.
- Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Spread with Strawberry Cream cheese icing on top.
Strawberry Cream cheese icing
- In a large bowl, beat butter and cream cheese. Add strawberry preserves and confectioner's sugar. Beat at high speed until fluffy.
